The Conference had confirmed that accounting and auditing services are an integral part of business support in trade in service activities, playing an important role to stimulate economic development, transparent and healthy investment and business environment in ASEAN countries.

It was also highlighted that regional and global integration and ASEAN economic development require the establishment of a unified services market for accounting and auditing. In order to achieve the said objective, significant efforts of AFA and each member body are encouraged to implement solutions for the purpose of narrowing legal gaps, harmonising accounting and auditing standards, promoting ethical standards, unifying training programmes and modules in accounting and auditing, and mutually recognising professional qualification requirements among member bodies.
