ICPAS Sets Up 4 Accountancy, Business Websites
Singapore's national accountancy body, the Institute of Certified Public
Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS), has launched four websites on business and
accountancy issues.
They are the ICPAS ethics centre, ICPAS country desk, ICPAS centre for financial
reporting and ICPAS research.
ICPAS president Ernest Kan said that the online knowledge centres will deliver
up-to-date content- rich material to give professionals insights into the latest
developments in the accountancy profession and the business world at large.
The websites, with their separate focus areas, are part of ICPAS 's strategy to
provide innovative offerings aligned with its aims of accountancy excellence,
industry growth and member and human capital development. They are also intended
as a platform for engagement with ICPAS members and the public.
ICPAS ethics centre (www.icpasethics.org.sg)
discusses current ethical issues in the accountancy profession. Users can find
details on the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics, frequently asked
questions, case studies, local fraud cases and other news on ethics.
ICPAS country desk (www.icpascountry.org.sg)
provides information on some of the world's fasting-growing economies, with
information on government and regulatory frameworks, accounting standards and
legislation. The site now features information on eight places, including
Singapore, China, India and Hong Kong.
ICPAS centre for financial reporting (www.icpascfr.org.sg)
aims to be a comprehensive one-stop-shop for information on financial reporting.
Users can find the latest versions of Singapore and international financial
reporting standards, frequently asked questions, news, publications, Icpas
comment letters and information on financial reporting seminars organised by
Icpas.
ICPAS Research (www.icpasresearch.org.sg)
provides white papers, news articles and research papers on accounting, business
advisory, auditing, business and finance, economics and regulations.
ICPAS said yesterday that more online knowledge centres are in the pipeline and
will be launched this year.
