ASEAN Federation Of Accountants (AFA) Member Bodies Attend Train the Trainers Workshop for IFRS For SMEs

A total of 14 trainers from AFA member bodies attended the Train the Trainers workshop for IFRS for SMEs in Kuala Lumpur recently. The workshop was organized by the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) together with the International Standards Accounting Committee Foundation (IASC) from 20-22 January 2010 and was attended by over 50 participants from 11 countries across the Asia Pacific region.

This event, which had the backing of the Asian Development Bank, managed to attract many participants from developing and emerging economies including participants from the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) member countries.

This Workshop provided an opportunity for the participants to have experienced local trainers receive training direct from the IASCF and impart to them sufficient skills and knowledge to subsequently provide training in IFRS for SME’s in their own countries.
