PAPC Public Accountants Lunch Talk on Mergers and Acquisitions of Accounting Practices

The event, organised under the aegis of the Public Accounting Practice Committee (PAPC), was held on 25 February. Dr Ernest Kan, ICPAS Vice President, gave an opening address with highlights on the current economic conditions, challenges faced by businesses and accounting practices, and opportunities for small and medium practices (SMPs) to merge. Mr Frankie Chia, Managing Partner, BDO Raffles, shared experiences, thoughts and best practices on M&As. A panel of senior practitioners comprising Mr Chia, Mr Joseph Toh (Baker Tilly TFWLCL) and Mr Jerry Lee (Ng, Lee & Associates - DFK), moderated by PAPC Chairman Mr Lim Boon Cheng, engaged participants to share views and experiences on the topic. Issues discussed include the importance of due diligence and factors for successful M&As.
