Progress of AFA Strategic Plan 2006-2007
The President of VAA presented potentials and scenarios of
professional training cooperation among accounting and
auditing professional associations in ASEAN countries. The
objective of the presentation is to elaborate cooperation in
accounting and auditing training among ASEAN countries to
narrow the gap in terms of training quality and curricula
and move towards an ASEAN standard accounting and auditing
programme, which would be known as the ASEAN CPA training
programme.
The activities would be:
 |
Exchange information on training programme in order to
improve mutual understanding, evaluate correctly and fully
the capacity of each member association. |
 |
Exchange lecturers and students on the basis of mutual
interests and sharing of costs and opportunities among
students. Professional associations will be the contact
points to coordinate communications and organisation. |
 |
Develop common training programme at general level,
including training content, structure and curricula,
evaluation methodology, recognition and certification. |
 |
Establish training institutions and training courses. |
Council Members were then reminded that the AFA strategic
plans which are relevant to the proposal above would be:
|
1. |
Identification of the Needs and Expectations of AFA Member
Bodies where a needs assessment programme for all members
will be conducted to identify what each member expects to
receive for its AFA membership. |
|
