The 92nd AFA Council Meeting, 10 Dec 2007, Jakarta, Indonesia

The 92nd AFA Council Meeting was held on 10 December 2007 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting was attended by representatives of its Primary Members from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Representatives of its Associate Members present were CPA Australia, ICAA and ACCA.

Issues discussed at the meeting, among others were:

MoU between AFA & SAFA
The draft MoU between AFA and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) was accepted by the Council and it was agreed that the MoU will be signed during the opening ceremony of the 15th AFA Conference.

Draft report on the Identification of the Needs and Expectation of the AFA Member Bodies
MIA reported to the Council on the result of the survey on the Identification of the Needs and Expectation of the AFA Member Bodies. The draft report was also circulated to the members of the meeting and member bodies were requested to review the draft report. Any comments should be submitted to MIA before 31 December 2007.

The Proposal of changing the Terms of AFA Presidency
The proposal for the rearrangement of the terms of AFA office bearer was approved by the Council. The schedule for the President and Vice President for the coming terms will be as follows:

The 93rd AFA Council Meeting will be held March 2008 in Brunei Darussalam tentatively in. The exact date will be notified later.
