EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) is the umbrella organisation for the national Professional Accountancy Organisations (PAOs) of the ten ASEAN member countries. AFA members consist of the ten ASEAN PAOs representing the ten ASEAN member countries as the Primary Members, supported with the four Associate Members who are internationally recognised PAOs of any countries which are supportive of the aspirations of AFA.

Effective from 2011 the AFA Secretariat is under the care of the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants. The Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Federation and in supporting the Federation’s programs.

In responding to the ever-developing challenges of the current accountancy profession, and to further drive the development of AFA in meeting the needs of ASEAN accountants, AFA is seeking for a competent individual to be appointed as the Executive Director of AFA. The AFA Executive Director will work as part of the AFA Secretariat under the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants, in supporting the Federation.

The potential candidates must possess the following qualities:

  1. Strong education background in accountancy. Professional certification in accountancy will be appreciated.
  2. Minimum of five years of experience in relevant managerial position(s).
  3. Proven experience of working with cross-border team(s) and individual(s).
  4. Ability to work with individuals and groups from different background and ethnicity.
  5. Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of another language of ASEAN origin will be appreciated.
  6. Proven managerial capabilities, particularly in managing regional and/or international matters.
  7. Excellent understanding of and passion in developing the accountancy profession.
  8. Willingness to travel efficiently around the region. 

Competitive remuneration package will be provided as part of the role.
